Lovable Feb 2023

Brief

My mother remembers the first 20 years of my life as "lovable", and though the women never quite agreed to that - now at 40, this is once again my goal - to have joy like a fountain!.

In a previous poster I once wrote "Explore, Experience, Emote, Express" and a large part of me did just that in the cocoon my family did ensconce me in, only letting the wholesome through.

Then, age 12, I had a 36 year old best friend and we embarked on learning programming together and he also taught me electronics and I learnt pretty quick.

In the 12th grade, we were introduced to the Rapidest Application Development Framework at the time - VB6 and I took to it like a fish going back to water.

Goals back then were simple and since I was already learning programming at home, I chose to study Electrical and Electronics, flunking sometimes cause I was programming too much during exams. Glad to say I still code to excess.

Then I missed 9 months because of (I think it was) - solid state drives. I see this now as a blessing cause the smaller companies were the ones that lapped me up. I still remember coding asp for the first time the night before the interview at the job I first got, and the vb code I wrote in a .Net company on my own laptop coz vb was too antiquated for them.

I have seen much of life's ups and downs, certainly a lot of downs in my 2nd stage of career where I was battling multiple demons, but I see them now as the "best life had to offer" because I can see how every experience - joy - sorrow - success - failure - has made me the compassionate thinker you see today, who will soon burst again upon the world like he did in his debut engineering days - who now is determined to YIELD MORE for all and sundry, or who will die trying!

I was asked a brief moment ago to talk of goals and career projections. My journey of marching to a different beat began in college final year when in response to then President Abdul Kalam's question of Brain Drain, I wrote tripping.

I still marvel at the way programming / engineering has not lost it's charm nor become a bore / tedious.

After Graduation (First 8 years)

I spent 8 months working for my father installing tower clocks and learning the basics of html and javascript.

Then in 2006 March my career took off. Never really setting goals for myself, my relentless hard work built on nearly 8 years of school and college applied rigour earned me the title of magician and "go-to-guy". There are still glimmers of my early writing but in 2006 I had a nutcase girlfriend who asked me to stop writing. And I did, until 2009 when I wrote about "Elephants, Ants and Mountains".

2010 saw me limping back from my 2nd bout of burnout induced depression (ok there was a girl leaving a vacuum in my life partly contributing to the first bout), and I was introduced to BrainSync.com and life's perfection took on another meaning - this lasted nearly 4 years.

Then after nearly 5 years at my 2nd company, I started writing in Jan 2013 with more force of will. I then took a month's break and all that latent spirituality started bubbling to the fore. In May of that year, at my second home in Bangalore, owned by a man who had previously taken me to his home on the banks of the Kaveri river, the word YIELD (Every Day is Your Last) popped up in my head and 3 brief months later, I wrote it's mandate and in Oct - it's technical and aesthetic blueprint.

The very next day I was off to the promised land, which spoke a language I knew and had a culture I had grown up engrossed in.

Alas, the dream was soon to be shattered. I returned home obsessed with this new goal and had no collaborators. I was soon dubbed a madman, a name that still cuts deep, for one who only sought to heal the world of it's maladies.

Goals (in retrospect):

  • Continue Enjoying the Tech Craze
  • Sharpen the Skills
  • Keep Making more money each appraisal
  • Meet Interesting Women.

Missed Goals:

  • Social Service Club outlined in tripping
  • Tech Following
  • Public Presentation Skills
  • Planning 5 years ahead and saving
  • Family Life (I chose the single life)
  • Helping Dad

After Crashing (9 to 16 years)

In spite of all the Darkness Imprisoning Me, I never once broke tryst with my dreams. My father lived to see me launch yieldmore and as his strength was waning, my mother got to bless me on stage and they both saw the birth of Joyland, though Joylungs was burnt to ashes.

I am extremely grateful for former bosses and colleagues for helping me through these difficult times, not to mention the steady stream of wellwishers who kept my heart and soul alive, and the Grace of Allah Almighty for never once letting me become dysfunctional.

Thanks to the love and continued support of a friend and her mother, 2016 passed and I became confident enough to start penning poems and planning launches.

In this 8 year period, my endurance was tested, I acquired confidence and new skills and finally developed the gift of the gab. It was trying on my friends who had to keep having the same conversations about picking myself up, getting YM off the ground and having a premeditated career. Today I still believe in following the inspiration of the moment and being as random as can be.

Goals (in retrospect):

  • Survival
  • Emerge as Writer / Ideator (YM)
  • Serve Others
  • Evolve a simple way of coding - once wordpress was out of the picture.
  • Get back in the game - 2021 Apr to 2022 June

Missed Goals:

  • Healing Faster
  • Helping Dad
  • Being Kinder to Family
  • Being smarter in who I hung out with
  • Getting YM Up Quicker

In My Element (2021 - 2028)

Today, I have a goal of making a million dollars by Feb 21st 2028. And to buy diamond earrings for pretty ladies!

I have 2 ways of making this - Tech and Non.

Goals:

  • Become lovable again.
  • Help my mother retire to a place of her choosing.
  • Get back in shape - phsical, mental, emotional
  • Create a provident fund for "Light Ones", starting with my family.
  • Be my own boss and make a decent amount of money.
  • Respark the family business, leading embedded development personally and using YM to turn it into a new age time making company.
  • Reach Amadeus in the right hands, not just as a programmer, but full fledged collaborator.
  • Get YieldMore.org off the ground.

Goals Post 45:

  • Join a family
  • Travel the world, strengthening and linking pockets of wisdom and hope
  • Visit Greece, Australia, Portland
  • Give a second innings to Yogesh and Mohan
  • Develop Affirm Life and YieldMore 3.0 (Shasa - science of prescription)
  • Be a HUGE contributor to the Free Software Foundation

Introduction Jun 2023

At 40, I'm a programmer / team player and budding writer with a tonne of ideas.

I'm looking to leave my shell and the nest to a degree and find new people.

We are after all travellers here never knowing when we shall find family in the next stranger we greet.

After spending the past 6 years writing my guts out until I found my equilibrium, I now say that I want collaborators, communities, speaking opportunities, to co-facilitate workshops, create more and be loved and accepted as a kid who just wants to be around people.

I have ideas for community spaces, peer healing and support groups, creative expression programmed for both children and adults and wish to engage with families that could / do see a little farther that those caught in the rat race.

When was the last time you felt elation to be where you are, to watch your children or family smile and to have the courage to step away from what you know, into the unknown.

There is a beautiful life awaiting us around the corner in the many processes and places that ucleave the spirit. So always remember who our mother is, treat her as DEAR and keep smiling.

Let your song trill across the galaxy - and BREAK FREE as you embrace the emotion and give in to the impulse to experience life on your terms.

NOW GO - the force is with you.

Dear Visitor Sep 2020

Dear Visitor,

I'm Imran Ali Namazi. Wannabe Famous. I have spent a good amount of time reading books, watching movies and listening to songs. I've picked up on some interesting thoughts during this and am found to be a little different, sometimes even weird / not fully grounded in reality. Perhaps that's a good thing - dream a dream fierce enough, you CAN make it reality.

You are never given a wish without also the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it however.
~ Richard Bach, Illusions

A lot of us people have a lot of good hopes, wishes and dreams. I am here to state mine with the intent that it MAY inspire others to talk to one another and express themselves.

I am here to listen to your story and tell you mine, maybe even to tell your story a little [which I do for friends now and then]... to break bread with you and to entreat you to stand beside me as we find others with whom to share a vision and toil for the "improvement of the human condition". I've done little but talk about it, I hope that changes now, post 2020, as we all start to Get Going.

I did try my hand at building a website the likes of Wikipedia, but it didn't work out too well because I was young and silly and worked alone and too fast and wasnt doing my homework steadily. I did learn a lot, but for now I just want to build 1-1 relationships with people and share ideas, bringing each one to the next step / logical conclusion - to take baby steps as they say.

You will find my ideas and emotions pouring out if you read my 2 pieces Infused (250 poems) and Imagine (30 odd essays), the primary reason I am building this site. I am also preparing myself to conduct my first "spontaneous [/creative] expression" workshop but this is still a long way to go.

You can write to me or message me if you like anything here / want to challenge my notions.

Also, my entire bibliography is here.
