New Horizons At 40 — Jul 2024
A dedicated technologist since college, an outflowering of a jubilant childhood spent in the joy of learning and doing, I stand today, age 40, at the crossroads in my life.
When I was in college I dreamed of finding satisying work, a stone's throw from my living space and working away at my dreams for a modest sum.
Having spent 25 years as a programmer, I now wish to change focus and go back to that college dream (as Randy Pausch would have us all).
Since 30, I've been cradling my dreams and am still an amateur writer who refuses to quit. My dream was the perfect marriage of technology, accumulated wisdoms and society - rather Utopian and thereby seemingly impossible - but as Sri Aurobindo says: Impossible is the Beginning of All Possibilities.
YieldMore today is still a social experiment - one that needs a laboratory space in which to be tested. It's broad swathes can be traced back to an article I wrote back in 2005 - till when will India continue tripping on its feet. In 2013, Dear Brother came as a revelation, and Sri Aurobindo's Unity Postscript holds ever relevant along with his writings on the ideal of human unity in this war torn world.
I am looking to work my way into a spiritual commune (devasangha) with some overlap of values, dreams and ideas - to initially volunteer my time but to be mentored to shape my own programs and services in the umbrella of the collective.
Broken in some parts, worn down in others, I hope my earnest cry is heard in the depths of the deep and the high of the highs - that some grace may be shown to me and my family of 4 elders. They are all in their 70's and Im running out of time to make things right for them. We are all happy to work our way as deemed fit by our skills and abilities.
I'm still flooded with ideas and programme avenues but need time to bring them to shape. Until then, I am happy to help any project big or small.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
